Ranchi, June 16: Chief Minister Hemant Soren,  at a high-level meeting, directed the deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure that the government schemes launched for the benefit of people should be visible on the ground and not remain limited to files.

Expressing his commitment for a green environment, the CM asked them to implement Birsa Harit Gram Yojana properly saying it will prove to be very effective in making the villages green.

The purpose of the meeting was to know the ground reality of the development plans in the state besides the pace of progress of the government’s dream projects, assessing the connection of the poor and needy with welfare schemes and get first-hand information regarding the way officers on grass root level are adopting to solve public problems besides others.

The discussions and data presented by officials during the meeting suggested that MNREGA schemes are being operated in 4153 panchayats of the state. In the current financial year, a target has been fixed to generate 297 lakh man-days by June. In this, more than 240 lakh man-days have been generated so far, which is about 80 per cent. Birsa Harit Gram Yojana is being implemented in 9538 villages of the state. So far 110 sports grounds have been developed in the current financial year.
