Ranchi, March 9: As many as 300 contractual employees working in third and fourth grade at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) have not received their salary for the past 4 months.

The aggrieved employees today reached the administrative block of RIMS to meet the Director due to non-payment of salary. However, in the unavailability of the director, they could not meet him.

All the 300 contractual employees are working through an outsource agency ‘Shri Ram Enterprises and Business Corporate’. The contractual workers are currently working as Office Attendant, Ward Boy, Computer Operator, Lab Technician, OT Assistant and Nursing. Their salaries are due since November 2021.

Ashok Verma, who is working as a ward boy, said that due to non-payment of salary for the last 4 months, the financial situation has worsened. “I am unable to even pay the rent of my house and the landlord is continuously demanding the rent. The relative from whom I had taken the money to run my house has also started demanding for their money,” he added.

At the same time, ward boys Rohit and Aarav Raj are also going through similar problems.

Everyone said in one voice, “Despite working risking our lives during the transition period of Corona, we are wandering from door to door for the money we deserve.”

Alok, the supervisor of Shri Ram Enterprises, said that the bill has been submitted to the RIMS management regarding the payment of the salary due by the agency. By the evening, the money for November (one month) will go to the account of all the employees.

However, the employees say that they should be paid the salary till February.
