Hazaribag, May.6: Convicted gangster Anil Sharma, who is in Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan central jail, has suffered mild heart attack last night. The jail officials have shifted him to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical college for better treatment. Jail sources said his condition is stable now.
Sources said the gangster, who is serving life imprisonment, is lodged in a separate ward amid tight security. As his activities in jail always seen suspicious, he is well guarded in the jail.
Sources said when his condition deteriorated, he was shifted immediately to the jail hospital in the jail campus itself. They said this 100-bed hospital is having emergency lifesaving equipment.
Later in the night, amid huge police bandobast, he was shifted to the medical college and hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. Officials said they will get all reports related to Sharma today after which a final decision will be taken for his treatment.
Sharma who has been awarded 23 years of imprisonment had been sent to the high security Hazaribag jail from Dumka in 2021 after he was charged with operating his gang from the prison there.
