Dhanbad, Dec 30: The devotees of Baba Baidyanath will have to pay double charge for ‘Sheeghra Darshan’ of Baba Baidyanath on January 1st.

During normal days, devotees have to pay Rs 250 for one coupon. But in the wake of the massive rush of people on the occasion of ‘New Year’, the Deoghar district administration has doubled the coupon charge to Rs 500 for January 1.

The administration has also shifted the coupon counter from the temple premises to Jalsar Park.

Deoghar SDM cum Baba Baidyanath Temple in-charge Dinesh Kumar Yadav said, “In the wake of New Year, devotees from different states visit Baba Dham Temple on January 1. The coupon counter has been shifted at Jalsar Park so that a massive gathering of devotees near the temple could be avoided.”

As per official sources, over 50,000 devotees are expected to arrive for Darshan of Baba Baidyanath on  January 1.  On the occasion of New Year, long queues of devotees appear for Sheeghra Darshan as well as the general coupon counter near the temple.

“Devotees and members of  Panda- Purohit Samaj have been informed and requested to get coupons for Sheeghra Darshan at Jalsar Park rather than near Baba Baidyanath Temple so that Covid protocol could be maintained,” said the SDM.

A senior official of the district administration said that notice has already been issued about ‘no entry into the temple without a certificate of both doses of Covid-19 vaccination.’

NDRF teams will also be deployed at Shivganga for the safety of devotees.
