Daltonganj Nov. 3: The four Covid-19 Tika Express cars in Daltonganj have been slow and tardy for the vaccination drive in the region.

According to the District Epidemiologist, Dr. Anup Kumar Singh, the cars that arrived here on October 3 have done a meager 7,546 vaccinations only till November 2 that is exactly one month. It comes to barely 62.75 vaccinations per day per Tika Express car which is a very disheartening figure.

He said, “Our civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar has always been found asking for a speed up in the vaccination by these cars.”

On being asked if these Tika Express cars are worth the effort as they are very expensive, Dr. Anup declined to make any comment.

“Under the directive of the civil surgeon we are committed to have a maximum number of vaccinations a day here,” he added.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar said, “We have been pressuring the Tika Express cars to perform well and consistently with intelligent connection with people living across the roads, rural roads, state highways and national highways.”

On Dhanteras, 6,685 vaccines were given in Palamu which is a far greater figure as Palamu had seen less than 3,000 vaccinations during the Durga Puja festivity.

“There was a kind of consistency of the number of the vaccinations done between October 28 and 31 which was 10,099 on October 28, 10,035 on October 29, 10,221 on October 30 and 9, 122 on October 31,” added Dr. Anil.

The CS further said, “Our computer operators in the peripheral health hubs are yet to upload a huge amount of data of vaccinations. They lagged behind due to poor internet connection as per their versions.”

According to sources, 48,000 entries of the vaccinations done in Palamu are yet to be uploaded.
