PINAKI  MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, April 26:  The Covid- 19 sample test would soon resume in Jamshedpur and other parts of East Singhbhum over the possible fourth wave.

The East Singhbhum district health department has issued instructions in this regard on its own even though the Centre or for that matter the state government has issued no advisory. The officials said the sample tests would resume in a day or two.

Notably, the sample tests were being carried out on regular basis till mid-February but stopped after the cases reduced drastically.

Apart from the resumption of the sample test, the district administration has also started focusing on Covid vaccination for the 12-14 years age group and on a drive for wearing masks.

Various schools including Loyola, Rajendra Vidyalaya and Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya ( VBCV) have been earmarked as vaccination centres.

District health officials said they want to restart the drive for wearing masks but are finding it difficult to do so as most officials are occupied with the Panchayat poll duty.
