Dhanbad, Aug 28: Two bike-borne masked men hurled hand grenades on an officer of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) in Gondudih area under the Kenduadih police station of the district on Saturday afternoon.
A police official said the miscreants hurled five country-made hand grenades on the Bolero car of BCCL Khas Kusunda colliery project officer Tileswar Paswan near Gondudih Eco Restaurant Park when the officer was going to the colliery office.
Having sensing trouble the driver of the coal officer drove the car toward Eco Park and saved the life. The Police officer said not a single hand grenade out of five exploded.
Getting information additional superintendent of police Manoj Swargyari, officer-in-charge of Kenduadih police station Binod Oraon and Gondudih OP officer-in-charge Laxmeswar Choudhary reached the spot and recovered all five hand grenades from thSe spot. In course of the investigation police officers searched CCTV footage of Gondudih Hill Top Outsourcing company and found two criminals in masked fleeing by bike.
“ Police would nab both the criminals soon,” said Kendudih police station officer-in-charge Binod Oraon to media persons.
Outsourcing employees sources said that criminals had come to attack Gondudih Hill Top outsourcing company manager Santosh Yadav but in confusion, they hurled hand grenades on the car of the BCCL project officer as both use Bolero. As per an employee, 10 minutes before the incident two youth on a bike had inquired about Santosh Yadav in the office.
Later on, Santosh Yadav lodged a complaint at the Gondudih OP and sought security from police in the wake of the incident. Extortion demand from the outsourcing company is said to be the reason behind the attack.
