Hazaribag, Dec 20: Cyber criminals have now found new ways to cheat people. This time they have started targeting the people who have applied for a cowshed scheme in the Department of Animal Husbandry.
A Hazaribag resident Jitni Devi, the wife of Bittu Bhuiyan, lost Rs 39,000 after getting trapped by cybercriminals. As per the information, she got a call from a man on Sunday saying that he is from the department of animal husbandry. The caller told Jitni that her application for a cow shed is passed by the department and so she has to deposit Rs.12,000 through the online transaction on the caller’s number. As Jitni transferred the amount, the man again asked her to transfer Rs 15,000. Jitni not only transferred the amount for the second time but also sent Rs 12,000 for the third time.
As the village Mukhiya Deepak Yadav, as he came to know about it, he stopped the couple from transferring the amount for the fourth time. He informed Dr Anil Kumar Das, the animal husbandry department officer about the fraud with Jitni.
Dr Anil Kumar Das said that many others who have applied for cow shed are also getting such fraud calls. The department is not making any calls and it is done by cyber fraudsters.
Meanwhile, Deepak Yadav urged the villagers not to come into this trap and inform them if they get any such calls.
