Daltonganj, July 10: A senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Sannu Siddiqui and his team on Sunday felicitated 10 fish farmers in Daltonganj marking National Fish Farmers’ Day which is held every on July 10.

Sources said JMM becomes the first ever political party in recent time to honour the fish farmers.

Siddiqui told lagatar24.com that the party is committed to better the living and economic condition of the fish farmers. He said their district president Rajinder Sinha asked him and others in the party to reach out the fish farmers on Sunday.

Sources added that the fish farmers were too overwhelmed with the gesture of the JMM and praised Sannu and his team profusely.

They further said that as there has been deficit of rain in Palamu in the month of June and it continues to be scarce in July, fish farmers are worried about the ponds where the water level is receding fast.

Ponds in Daltonganj are very vulnerable to big people who are out to encroach its periphery first. Siddiqui said their party stands with the fish farmers and they will frustrate any move to encroach ponds in Daltonganj.

JMM leaders namely Sanny Shukla, D Bhardwaj, Sanjay Chandravanshi and others were with Sannu Siddiqui.
