Ramgarh, July 5: The students of classes LKG and UKG of DAV, Barkakana today took a pledge to boycott plastic bags and use cloth bags.

They brought two bags made from their home and exchanged them with each other. When asked from the children, they said that after hearing and knowing about the harm caused by plastic bags through various mediums, they want to stop using them. For this, they have taken the initiative to minimize the use of plastic.

When the children were asked how they would do this work, they said that they would give cloth bags to their parents and siblings while going to the market and would also take care of it when they go with them. They will not use plastic-made tiffin boxes and water bottles. In its place, they will use an object made of metal and will also encourage it.

A child said that he has urged his mother to use pitcher water instead of fridge water. This spirit of the children really reflects the thinking of the country regarding the future of the country. Seeing this spirit of the children, Principal cum Regional Officer of the school Dr Urmila Singh expressed satisfaction and said, “I am sure that the future of our country will go into safe hands which will prove to be a guide for the whole world”.

Apart from this, one hundred students from classes IX to XII participated in the painting program on the occasion of Van Mahotsav and through their paintings, they put their ideas on the papers, signifying its importance and the need for the conservation of forests.
