Jamshedpur, May 3: The maximum temperature in most parts of Jharkhand witnessed an abrupt fall during the past 24- hours with weathermen predicting thunderstorms and lightning alerts in several isolated places across the state today, Wednesday.
The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Haryana and its neighbourhood persists extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level.
A cyclonic circulation lies over southern Chhattisgarh up to 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.
Meteorological statistics indicated that the day’s reading plummeted to around 26 degree Celsius in Ranchi and Jamshedpur. The maximum reading in both places was 13 notches below normal.
In Chaibasa the maximum reading nose dived to around 25 degree Celsius.
Light to moderate rain occurred at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours.
The highest rainfall recorded was 16.4 mm at Tonto (West Singhbhum). The highest maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius was recorded at Daltonganj while the lowest minimum temperature of 19°C was recorded at Ranchi
Weathermen at Ranchi Meteorological Centre hinted at a gradual rise in maximum temperature in the next 72 – hours.
