Dhanbad Oct 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandeep Singh on Thursday flagged off five ‘Jagrukta Rath’ for awareness of labours in urban and rural areas for registration in E- Shram Portal.

The Jagrukta Rath would tour all 10 blocks of the district and make labours of unorganized sectors aware of the benefit of the central government projects by getting their name registered in the E-Shram Portal.

While flagging off the Rath, the deputy commissioner said that besides the advantage of government development projects, the registered labour would also get Rs 2 lakh of  Prandhanmantri Suraksha Beema Yojna ( insurance scheme) benefit in case of an accident. Since Dhanbad is of the hub of labours, the deputy commissioner has fixed a target of  8.81 lakh labours to be registered in E-Shram Portal by December 31. He has directed all the concerned officials to ensure the registration of all labours entitled to this project.

CSC operators have also been directed to help labours especially in rural areas in registration,” he said.

District labour superintendent Pravin Kumar on the occasion informed that Jagrukta Rath would make people aware that the labours between the age group of 16 years to 59 years who do not pay income tax can get their name registered in it.

‘”MNREGA workers, Self-help Group (SHG) members,  street vendors, rickshaw pullers, Mid-Day Meal workers, ASHA workers, domestic helpers Anganwadi workers, fishermen, agriculture workers and others can get registration in  E-Shram Portal to get the benefit of schemes,” said the labour superintendent.
