Dhanbad, Sept 15: Now you can get Babadham Peda, famous lac bungle, iron-made domestic materials of Deoghar district while sitting in your house in any corner of the country.
The ambitious project of the Deoghar district administration, the ‘Deoghar Mart’ website for selling indigenous items through online shopping was launched on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri while launching the website said that the ‘Deoghar Mart’ website has been designed in such a way that people would not face any hurdle in operating it and easily purchase items of their choice.
An official of the district administration said on the first day officers right from the headquarters to block-level purchased different items through the ‘ Deoghar Mart’ website in the trial run.
“The items that are on online sale through ‘Deoghar Mart’ website are not only indigenous but also high-quality products,” claimed the deputy commissioner.
The DC said in the first phase he has directed to list famous Peda, iron-made materials, lac bangles Khadi and bamboo products in this month with Deoghar Mart for the online sale. Besides, products from 100 vendors and 50 SHGs have been launched for online sale through the ‘Deoghar Mart’ platform in the first phase.
“We have planned to associate all artisans with the ‘Deoghar Mart ‘gradually so that they could become strong and self-reliant”, he said. The DC said that besides ensuring commercialization of indigenous items, quality improvement in saleable goods, packing and home delivery system, coordinator at block level has also been activated,” he said.
