Ramgarh, Feb 3: A meeting of the District Level Committee was organized today, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ramgarh Madhavi Mishra, over the Chief Minister’s Health Assistance Scheme.
During the meeting, the DC first took information from the District Welfare Officer Rameshwar Chaudhary about the benefits being given to the beneficiaries of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes in Ramgarh district under the scheme.
After giving information about the work being done in this regard, the District Welfare Officer told DC Mishra that at present, a total of 101 applications have been received from 25 Scheduled Tribes, 40 Scheduled Castes and 36 Backward Castes persons for the purpose of taking advantage of the scheme.
The DC gave important instructions after discussing all the applications with the members of the committee. During the meeting, she directed the District Welfare Officer and the Civil Surgeon to organize camps in remote areas of the district and ensure necessary action to extend the benefits of the scheme to maximum deserving beneficiaries.
On behalf of the Jharkhand Welfare Department, the government provides financial assistance to the Scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities and Backward Classes in illness.
For this the department runs the Medical Assistance Scheme whose name has been changed to Chief Minister’s Health Assistance Scheme. Under this scheme, there is a provision to provide financial assistance for any kind of disease or surgery or for the treatment of cancer.
Now by amending it, the government has started the provision of giving benefits even if there is a Covid in it. If a person comes under Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Minorities and Backward Classes and contracts Covid or he/she was in home isolation, then the government will give a financial assistance ranging from Rs 2,500 to Rs 10,000.
The benefits under the scheme are given in two categories. First for those above 18 years of age and second for those who are under 18.
Those above the age of 18 will be given financial assistance of Rs 3,000 to 5,000 for more than 7 days of illness, Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000 for Covid and about Rs 25,000 in case of cancer.
While those below 18 will be given financial assistance of Rs.1,500 to 2,500 if the disease is more than 7 days, Rs. 2,500 to 5,000 in case of Covid and Rs. 15,000 in case of cancer.
MLA representative Mandu Vinod Bihari Mahato, Civil Surgeon Dr Prabhat Kumar, District Welfare Officer Rameshwar Chaudhary, Assistant District Public Relations Officer Shashank Shekhar Mishra and others were present in the meeting.
