New Delhi, Nov 18: Delhi L-G VK Saxena has asked CM Kejriwal to remove Jasmine Shah from the post of vice-chairman, Delhi Dialogue and Development Commission (DDDC), for misusing his office for political purposes.

Additionally, the L-G instructed the CM to put immediate restrictions on Jasmine Shah’s ability to ‘discharge his duties’ as the vice-chairman of the DDDC and to utilise any ‘privileges and facilities’ related to his position, pending ‘a judgement by the CM.’

The DDDC’s office premises were sealed late on Thursday night as a result of an administrative order issued to this effect by the planning department of the Delhi government on Thursday.

As was previously mentioned, the L-G Secretariat received a complaint alleging irregularities and anomalies in the power subsidy provided to BSES discoms by the Delhi government. The complainant claims that Jasmine Shah and Naveen Gupta, the son of AAP Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta, perpetrated a significant swindle.

The complaint further claimed that the Kejriwal administration chose directors for the Anil Ambani Group-owned private DISCOMS BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. (BYPL). In these private DISCOMS, the Delhi government holds a 49% stake in the company.

In addition, BJP MP Parvesh Singh Verma said in a complaint submitted in September that Shah “acted as official spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for political advantages, which is in violation of established processes” while serving as the DDDC vice-chairman.

In 2014, Jasmine Shah joined the AAP. In 2018, he was selected to serve as the DDDC’s vice chairman. In the Delhi government, the position of DDDC V-C equates to that of a cabinet minister.
