New Delhi: Parliament’s Monsoon Session began on July 20, but the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) planned march to Parliament has become a major concern for the government, with students, competitive exam aspirants and their parents from across the country beginning to gather at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar from the evening of July 19 in support of the march.

CJP Demands Accountability Over NEET and Other Exam Irregularities

CJP has been demanding accountability over alleged malpractice in the NEET examination, paper leak cases and irregularities in other competitive exams, with the Education Minister squarely on their radar as the party continues to demand his resignation. With both the Monsoon Session and CJP’s Parliament march underway, Delhi Police and intelligence agencies have been placed on full alert, with security tightened significantly at Jantar Mantar.

Three-Tier Security Grid Set Up Across Central Delhi

According to sources, a three-tier security grid has been established covering Jantar Mantar, Parliament Street, Central Vista and Connaught Place, with Delhi Police personnel and paramilitary forces deployed at every corner, alongside rapid response teams kept on standby to handle any emergency situation.

Delhi Police Issues Advisory, Section 163 BNSS Imposed

New Delhi DCP Sachin Sharma issued a public advisory on X, warning that no permission had been sought or granted for any such protest march or procession. He said Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) had been imposed across New Delhi in view of the Monsoon Session and the planned demonstrations, placing a complete ban on the gathering of five or more people, protests, processions or sit-ins. The DCP clarified that peaceful demonstrations at Jantar Mantar would be permitted with prior approval, warning that violators of the prohibitory orders would face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable provisions, and appealed to citizens to respect the law and refrain from joining any unauthorised march.
