Deoghar, Sept 7: The Deoghar administration and the management of Babadham temple are conceiving an alternative arrangement to wash the temple. As per sources, the temple needs at least 12,000 to 15,000 litres of water on a daily basis.
Moreover, there is a fixed boring to wash the temple on normal days but during the festive seasons, especially Shrawani mela and special occasions like Maha Shivratri and new year, the tanks of the Fire Brigade department are used to wash the temple hourly.
Notably, the access of fire brigade vehicle to the temple is not easy due to the narrow lane as well as the use of such vehicles incurs charges that have to be paid from the fund of the temple as these vehicles consume a large amount of fuel.
The local administrative management of temple has realised the need to develop an alternative system. Shiv Ganga, the holy pond situated near the temple, has attracted the management of the temple to develop an alternative system.
As per the plan, the water available in the Shiv Ganga pond can be carried to the temple through a pipeline as well as a pump house will be required to be erected near Shiv Ganga. A network of water supply pipes will be developed.
There would be many points in the network that could be used in an emergency to quench the fire. As per the information, the proposal is being counted by the concerned authority. Meanwhile, the proposal to develop a DPR for the new plan has been sanctioned.
