Deoghar, April 7: The Deoghar administration has decided to take a fresh approach to solving land-related issues of the public. A camp for the Deoghar Sadar zone would be held soon to expedite the processing of public applications.
From issuance of the ‘lagan’ receipt to correction in ‘panji’ 2, digitalization of the same will be done in camp mode.
According to Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri, there will be ten counters for each of the ten ‘Halkas’, each with two skilled manpower. Face-to-face engagement between the applicant and the delegated personnel will be possible through this step.
After the application has been processed, applicants will receive information about the progress of their application via postal mail, eliminating the need for them to visit the circle office frequently and avoiding becoming locked in the hands of middlemen.
The applicant must submit an application together with some legitimate documents such as a sale deed (Kewala), an old receipt, a name transfer order and a correction certificate in order for the new exercise to be carried out in a transparent manner.
At the same time, an affidavit from the applicant should be attached, stating that the information provided is correct; otherwise, they will be subjected to legal action.
The Deoghar DC has provided comprehensive instructions to the Deoghar CO about the new initiative. The camp mode of redressal is only for ‘JamaBandi Raiyat’ land disputes as they have always been a source of contention.
The latest action adopted by the district administration is seen as a net practice to get rid of intermediaries from circle offices, which has been a long-standing problem. If the results are as expected, they may be used in other circles.
