Ranchi, May 12: Deoghar deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri was in the Jharkhand capital today to appear in the special court of ACB to get testified in a case related to demand of commission for payment of bill raised after a work done for the state rural development in Khunti district.

It was Bhajantri who got this case registered when the matter came into this knowledge in the capacity of deputy development commissioner of the district.

The Deoghar DC told the court in his testimony that he had lodged an FIR against executive engineer Shailendra Mandal in the year 2014 after the complaints of the contractors reached before him. He said that the tender for the construction of the Anganwadi centre was given to AV Enterprises by the rural development department.

A civil court advocate quoted Bhajantri saying that after completion of the construction work of the building, the company handed it over to the department on June 26 but the executive engineer did not pay the outstanding amount and demanded 20 percent of the bill amount as commission for payment. Regarding which a committee of 20 members complained to him on September 23 2014 and he registered an FIR in this connection.
