Dhanbad Jan 17: Rattled by the rising cases of Covid infection and complaints of doctor’s absence at health centres, the Deoghar District Disaster Management (DDM) has deployed 14 specialist physicians to provide telemedicine services to needy patients round the clock.

Deputy commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri while releasing the list of physicians along with their contact number, has also issued telephone numbers of ambulance drivers and names of incident commanders (block development officer and circle officers) for availing facilities of treatment.

Deoghar has registered 129 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours (till Sunday evening) across the district.

However, the DDM official said the district has posted a double recovery rate ( 230) in the last 24 hours also.

DDM has  reportedly swung into action after a tweet to Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that no doctors are available at night in hospitals of Deoghar. Emergency patients, especially victims of road accidents, have to face sheer hardship at night in absence of doctors and have to wait for long  even for First Aid.

“For the treatment advice of  people of district names of  doctors and their telephone numbers have been issued. Besides it, necessary  telephone numbers of  senior officials have also been released so that people can  consult with them in time of need,” said DC Manjunath Bhajantri.

Specialist doctors would attend calls of patients from 8 am to 8 pm daily. The timing of the doctor has been also fixed so that he would be available to attend calls and give advice to needy patients.

Doctors, who have been  deployed in telemedicine  services are Dr Abhishek,  Dr Rahul Kumar, Dr Prabhat Ranjan, Dr AK Singh, Dr Chandani Kumarti, Dr Md Shahid, Dr  Singh Alok Kumar, Dr Ravi Ranjan, Dr Vikash Kumar, Dr Kumar Abhay Prasad, Dr Rajesh Ranjan, Dr Chiranjan Pankaj and Dr K K Singh.
