Deoghar, Aug 4: The dead body of a minor girl child, who was missing for the past two days, was recovered from a pond near East Kothiya under the Jasidih Police station area on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Nishu (14), granddaughter of Raj Kishor Yadav, a resident of East Kothiya. She was a student in class 6 in a local government school.

According to information, a local resident found a dead body floating in the pond. He informed other people in the village and then the family of Nishu gathered and identified her body.

The local police said that the deceased’s mother had filed a missing complaint about her daughter as she was gone for two days.

Talking to the media, Nishu’s grandfather said that she had gone to visit the Shrawani Mela but did not return. He also admitted that Nishu was not mentally sound for the last two years. Her father had already passed away 6 years ago.

No marks of injury were found on the girl’s dead body. There are speculations that she might have drowned in the pond.
