Deoghar, April 11: After an interval of an hour, the rescue operation at the accident site on Trikut mountain has been restored. NDRF and ITBP are involved in rescue operations. Until 4.30 p.m., 28 people were rescued.
Tourists stranded in cabins are being securely picked up one by one with the help of a chopper. After being picked up from the cabin, everyone is being dropped off at two different locations.
Tourists’ mental and physical well-being are closely monitored. Deoghar DC Manjunath Bhajantri and his colleagues have been camping at the site of the accident since yesterday evening. Hafizul Hasan, the Jharkhand Minister of Tourism, is also camping there.
Talking to lagatar24.com, Hafizul Hassan said that the government’s priority is to evacuate the people safely.
He further said that an inquiry will be done into the matter. He admitted that maintenance of the ropeway system was not being done regularly. But it can be ascertained only after a proper probe.
MP Nishikant Dubey is also camping on the other side of the site.
