Dhanbad: 70- year- old blind woman allegedly raped by landlord

Dhanbad, March 30: A 70 years old blind woman was allegedly raped by an acquaintance in her house in the colony under the Sudamdih police station, around 19 km away from the district headquarters.

In this regard, the victim, a blind woman and her relatives lodged a complaint at the Sudamdih police station against their former landlord Sanjay Kumar alias Suraj (55). The accused has been absconding after the incident.

Sudamdih police station officer-in-charge Pradip Rana told media persons that a complaint was lodged on Wednesday. The police are investigating the complaint. In this regard, the victim and their relatives have been interrogated. Police are conducting raids for arresting the accused who has fled.

The son of the victim informed the police that earlier they had been living in the rented house of the accused and shifted to the Sudamdih area a few months ago. On Monday, the blind woman was alone in the house.  In the meantime, the accused came to the house and committed the crime.
