Dhanbad, Nov 21: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Dhanbad wing on Monday arrested a Sub Inspector posted at Saraidhela police station in the township while accepting a bribe of Rs 6000 for filing a diary of a case.
ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nitin Khandelwal told the media persons that Sub Inspector Rajendra Oraon was arrested while accepting a bribe for maintaining the case diary of case no 170/17. He is being interrogated by the officials and would be produced in court later.
The ACB acted on the complaint of Kalyanpur resident Pradeep Pandey, who had on November 14 applied for bail in the Saraidhela police station. He alleged that the Saraidhela SI demanded Rs 6000 for maintaining the case diary. When he requested the SI to reduce the demand, he refused to do so. Finally, Pradeep lodged a complaint against the SI with the ACB.
Dhanbad ACB officials acted on the complaint of Pradeep Pandey and laid the net to arrest the SI. On the directive of ACB officers, Pradeep Pandey called SI Rajendra Pandey near the petrol pump of Steel Gate for giving the money. As the SI accepted the money from Pandey, ACB sleuths caught him red-handed on the spot.
