Dhanbad, April 26: Rattled by the deaths from mine incidents in Dhanbad, the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) today set off a ‘Jagrukta Rath’ to alert people against the mines mishap in all 10 blocks of the district.
This is the first time that DLSA has launched an awareness campaign against illegal mining and mines mishaps in the coal belt.
While flagging off the ‘Jagrukta Rath’ from civil court premises, district principal and session judge cum chairman of DLSA Ram Sharma said that it will make people aware of the mines incident and alert them about it.
“Mines incident is a serious issue. The rath would visit each village, collieries area to give people information about different laws and development projects launched by the government for them. The issues of people would be solved on the spot by the officials associated with Jagrukta Rath,” said the DLSA chairman.
Additional judge cum DLSA secretary Nitasha Barla while rolling out the programme said that after the flag off, the Rath went to Gyarahkund block where it would cover different panchayats and villages till tomorrow (April 27).
A panel of lawyers comprising KK Singh, Viswajit Kumar Singh, and PLV Abdul Kalam will provide legal help to people on different issues.
The rath will tour in Kaliyasol on April 28-30, Nirsa block on May 2-4, Baliapur block on May5-7, Govindpur block on May 9-11, Baghmara block on May 12-16, Tundi block May 17-18, East Tundi block on May19-20, Topchachi on May 21, Dhanbad Sadar on May 23-26, and Jharia on May 27-28.
Principal judge Taufiqul Hussain, CBI special judge Rajnikant Pathak, chief judicial magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh, additional chief judicial magistrate Kuldeep Man, additional judge Rajiv Tripathi, Bar Association general secretary Jitendra Kumar, DLSA panellist lawyers Kedarnath Karmakar, Dipak Sah, Viswajit Mishra Ajay Kumar Bhatt Sunil Prasad and Panchanan Singh were also present on the occasion.
