Dhanbad, July 6: Two-week long workshop on ‘Faculty Development Program on Entrepreneurship’ organized by the Innovation and Incubation Centre of BIT Sindri began on Thursday.
BIT Sindri director Dr D.K. Singh, who inaugurated the programme, said that this initiative is a part of BIT Sindri’s commitment to excellence in FDP start-ups and incubation.
He encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge gained during the programne to enhance classroom teaching and motivate students towards an entrepreneurial career.
The event (July 5 to 15) is being sponsored by the BIT Sindri Alumni Association of North America (BITSANA).
Prof Prakash Kumar, professor in-charge of the Innovation and Incubation Cell, BIT Sindri, on the occasion, informed about the achievements and works of the last few years of the Incubation Cell. He also shed light on the contribution of BIT Sindri towards establishing a start-up ecosystem in Jharkhand.
Entrepreneur Ramesh Yadav emphasized that start-ups create numerous opportunities and contribute to the country’s economic development. Another participant (entrepreneur) Raj Jaswa also shared several case studies.
Prof. Meenakshi Chowdhary from the Department of Humanities shed light on the importance of this FDP for the students as well as participants.
The resource persons from various organizations who are presenting keynotes on the areas of entrepreneurship, Startups and Incubation are Dr. Chris Pal Singh, CEO, Holtec International, USA, Dr. Anil Singh, President BITSANA, USA, Ramesh Yadav, entrepreneur, USA, Pro. Raj Jaswa, Adjunct Faculty IIT Bombay and Serial entrepreneur, Silicon Valley, USA, Pro. (Dr.) Nishant Tikekar, IIT Bombay entrepreneur, Dr. Amarnedu Prakash, president, SAIL, New Delhi, Dr. Shailendra Suman, professor of entrepreneurship at University of North Carolina, Charlotte, USA, Dr. Santosh Anshumali, IIT Bombay entrepreneur etc.
Prof. Prakash Kumar, professor in -charge of the Innovation and Incubation Cell said that ‘Faculty Development Program ‘ (FDP) is being organized under the supervision of Prof. DK Singh, director, and the coordination is managed by Dr Om Prakash from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Murli Manohar from the Electrical Engineering Department and Prof. Meenakshi Chowdhary from the Department of Humanities.
The FDP has attracted participation from faculty members of various universities, colleges and institutes. Their collective effort aims to create a strong ecosystem that fosters start-up activities, promotes sustainable economic growth and generates employment opportunities across the country.
