Dhanbad, Feb 24: Baghmara BJP MLA Dhulu Mahto, who is presently lodged in Dhanbad jail, has sought permission from the court to attend the assembly session scheduled for February 27.
Senior advocate Devisharan Sinha in this regard filed an application in special MP, MLA Court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Santoshni Murmu seeking permission for MLA Dhulu Mahto to participate in the assembly session to be held from February 27 to March 14.
Three times BJP MLA of Baaghmara Dhulu Mahto has been lodged in Dhanbad jail since January 9, 2023, in connection with a 10-year-old case of freeing a warrantee from police custody in his Barora area and assaulting the police officer.
Dhulu Mahto’s lawyer Devisharan Sinha also attached the letter of the assembly secretary to MLA for attending the session with an application submitted in the court for permission.
“Since MLAs s in judicial custody, permission has been sought from the court to allow participation in the assembly session.
The court has fixed tomorrow ( February 25) next date to order the application of MLA.
