Dhanbad Pocso court awards 20 years jail term to minor’s rape accused

Dhanbad,  April 3: The POCSO court today awarded 20 years’ jail punishment to Koyla Nagar resident Sanjay Paswan in four years old case of rape with a minor girl.

Prabhakar Singh, the special judge of POCSO court, while hearing the case also slapped a fine of Rs 7000 on the accused, besides 20 years of jail term for heinous crime.

The APP said that the court had held Sanjay Paswan guilty in the case on Saturday ( April 1)  and reserved  announcement of  quantum of punishment for  Monday ( April 3).

As per the FIR lodged by the victim’s mother in the Saraidhela police station on February 2, 2019, the  girl went out of house  at 3 pm and  did not return. Family members informed the police station about her missing at late night.

After five days at mid night of February 7, family members got information about the girl and found her in house of one Hiralal Mahto. The girl informed that the accused took her away to Allahabad, Asansol, Sealdah and raped several times.

After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against accused Sanjay Paswan in court on February 18, 2019.
During the trial total eight weightiness were cross examined.
