Dhanbad, July 22: The Dhanbad POCSO court today awarded 20 years’ imprisonment to one Md Ezaj Khan (30), resident of Wasseypur, accused of raping a minor a year back.
Special judge of POCSO Court Prabhakar Singh also imposed penalty of Rs 12,000 on the accused. The court had held him guilty in the case on Friday and pronounced the quantum punishment today.
As per the FIR lodged in Bank More police station of the district on December 6, 2022, Ezaj, who was already married and a neighbour of the victim took away the minor girl to Mumbai on November 27, 2022 early morning.
The accused sexually exploited the girl and returned after the guardian of victim lodged an FIR against him in the police station.
