Dhanbad, April 1: The Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Railway (ECR) has set a new record in freight loading and revenue earning in the country for the financial year 2022-23 which concluded on Friday.
The Dhanbad Rail Division achieved freight loading of 171.32 million tons which is the highest among 58 rail divisions across the country for the year. A senior official of the division and ECR (East Central Railway) Hajipur zone said that 171.32 million tons of freight loading is the highest ever in the country.
The Bilashpur Rail Division of South East Central Rail Zone (157.33 million tons) and Khurda Road Rail Division of East Coast Railway Zone (155.33 million tons) registered second and third position respectively after Dhanbad in freight loading.
Besides it, a senior official of the division said the Dhanbad Rail Division also set a new record in revenue earning of Rs 23006 crore in the 2022-23 financial year which is also the highest ever so far among the 58 rail divisions of the country. Vilaspur division and Khurda Rail division got second and third positions respectively in earnings.
Additional Divisional Manager (ADRM) Ashish Kumar Jha said that it is a proud moment for all of them. “ This was possible under the leadership of DRM ( Kamal Kishore Sinha) and contribution of all officials and staff,” he said.
He further added that the Dhanbad Division was top in revenue and freight loading in the financial years of 2022-23 which ended on March 31.
This achievement of the Dhanbad Rail division keeps special significance as in the last financial year 2021-22 it was in the second position with 158.70 million tons after the Vilaspur division which had 159.55 million tons in freight loading.
The divisional railway officials said in the 2020-21 financial year Dhanbad had achieved a target of 133.60 million in freight loading.
The officials and staff of the division gave hats off to the Divisional Rail Manager (DRM) Kamal Kishore Sinha, ADR Ashish Jha and Senior Divisional Commerce Manager Amar Kumar for this outstanding achievement.
