Dhanbad, Feb 20: Ten days signature campaign of railway employees for implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) concluded today with mass participation of staff. The signature of employees was sent to the President of India.
The spokesperson of East Central Railway (ECR) Karmchari Union (Dhanbad Rail Division ) NK Khawas said that 80 to 90 per cent of employees working in 14 branches of the Dhanbad railway division signed the memorandum for OPS.
The employee strength of Dhanbad Rail Division is around 22,000 to 23,000.
“It was an All India Signature campaign carried out from February 10 to February 20. Besides Dhanbad Division, employees of Jharkhand based all railway divisions participated,” said NK Khawas.
Khawas said the signature campaign for the Old Pension Scheme was launched on a call of the All India Mens Federation general secretary Shiva Gopal Mishra. East Central Railway Karmchari Union Central Committee president DK Pandey and general secretary SN P Srivastava led the campaign in the zonal railway.
The spokesperson said this nationwide campaign had single demand of implementing OPS and it was sent to the President of India to make him aware of the sentiment of railway employees.
In the ten days campaign, NK Khawas Somen Dutta, Netaji Subhash, Basant Dubey ( Dhanbad branch), Indramohan Singh ( Katras), VK Sab ( Pathardih), BV Singh ( Gajhandih), BK Jha, Rupesh Kumar, AK Bhagat (Gomoh), Chandan Kumar Shukla (Chandrapura), Sunil Kumar Singh ( Daltonganj), MP Mahto, PK Ganguli ( Barkakan), RN Choudhary, Ajit Kumar Mandal (Patratu), BKD Trivedi and CP Pandey (Choupan) conducted in their respective branch.
