Ranchi, Sept 7: The outdoor service at Ranchi Sadar Hospital have been affected after a dispute between a doctor and a patient at the gynaecology department. So far, the exact reason behind the dispute has not come to the fore as Ranchi civil surgeon Vinod Kumar has not come up with any official statement on the matter.

However, a JMM leader Ladle Khan, who was noticed staging a demonstration at Sadar Hospital gate told Lagatar24.com that doctors called a Muslim patient ‘Jehadi’ when she turned up before the doctor for treatment and started explaining her problem.

“The name of the lady who was termed Jehadi is Farhad Zabi and she had come from Pithoria accompanied by her husband Tyeb Alam. This is not tolerable. It is wrong to pass any remark taking the caste, creed and religion of a person,” angry Khan staging dharna at Sadar Hospital gate said.

Contrary to this, a Sadar Hospital doctor said the dispute arose after the lady alleged that a doctor placed contraceptive device Copper-T without her consent following which the doctor attending her asked her to share her problem instead of complaining against others.

The hospital comes under Lower Bazar police station. The hospital authority informed police to look into the matter after an outdoor service of the public hospital got affected after a dispute.

However, when contacted officer-in-charge of the police station, Satish Kumar, for his comment said that the matter has been sorted out. He did not share what actually happened. So far no FIR has been registered in this connection.

Till the filing of the report, OPD service had not resumed as insiders were heard saying that patients talked ill with doctors and para medical staff and they are demanding proper action against them in the matter.
