Dhanbad, Sept 5: The academic experts of the state stressed on the need to enhance the skills of teachers for managing classrooms effectively in a two-day workshop on capacity building programme on Classroom Management organized by Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro
Besides the experts from Ranchi and Jamshedpur, 60 teachers of Dhanbad and Bokaro schools participated in this workshop and put up their suggestions on the subject matter.
The experts said that the foundation of shaping responsible citizens for the nation begins in the classroom. Children are an asset to society and their development towards the progress of the nation begins from classrooms.
Educator Rashmi Sharma, who was recently honoured as the best teacher of Ranchi (as co-resource person) while addressing the workshop said that in the wake of parents’ pressure on children, teachers are required to understand their emotions and concerns, and should employ effective teaching strategies in a supportive and empathetic environment.
“Post-pandemic, maintaining the attentiveness and engagement of students in the classroom poses a significant challenge. Provide them the opportunities to develop according to their nature for success”, she suggested.
Sulagna Aich, head of the Department of Social Study, Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Jamshedpur while addressing said time management, discipline, curriculum and maintaining a harmonious relationship with students are crucial aspects of education.
“A successful teacher is one who wins the affection and belief of their students”, said Aich.
DPS Bokaro principal Dr AK Gangwar emphasized the significance of the workshop in the holistic development of students. He said that proper classroom management not only shapes a teacher but also ensures the success of the students.
“The workshop served as a platform for educators to enhance their skills and strategies in managing classrooms effectively in today’s educational landscape in contributing to the betterment of students and society as a whole”, he said.
