Ranchi, Aug 17: The Delhi Public School, Ranchi organised AD MELIORA 2022 – an Inter School Quiz Festival on Wednesday at Vivekanand Auditorium in the school. Around 230 participants of 14 teams from across the state took part in this initiative.
Surendranath Centenary School, Taurian World School, DPS (Bokaro), DPS (Dhanbad), SR DAV Public School, Oxford Public School, Sarala Birla Public School, Vivekanand Vidya Mandir, St. Michael’s School, St. Thomas School, Vikas Vidyalaya, Cambrian Public School, and Bridgeford Public School sent their quizzers for participating in this contest accompanied by their mentors.
The Quiz Competition was conducted in three stages. A wide range of questions related to popular culture viz entertainment (such as films, music, television, video games), sports, news, politics, fashion, technology etc were asked by the Quizmasters Shakeb Arsalan and Vaishnav Garodia. Apart from Quiz, two more competitions Cryptic Crossword and Cryptic Hunt were also organised under this initiative.
After the final round of quiz competition, DPS Bokaro with Akshara Roy Sharma and Tamanna Ray was bestowed with the first position and they bagged the cash prize of Rs 20,000. DPS Dhanbad (Asmit Kumar and Saurav Kumar) grabbed the second position and won the cash prize of Rs 10,000. Also, DPS Bokaro (Ayushmann Dutta and Shrestha Rupam Dwivedi) secured the third position and bagged the cash prize of Rs 5,000.
DPS Ranchi students Ved Vatsal and Anmol Anand were declared winners with the first position and they bagged the cash prize of Rs 8,000 in Cryptic Crossword competition. DPS Dhanbad with participants Camellia and Vrish Vardhan Singh grabbed the second position and won the cash prize of Rs 5,000 while Oxford Public School (Disha and Tridisha) secured the third position and bagged the cash prize of Rs 3,000.
Disha of Oxford Public School emerged as the winner in the Cryptic Hunt Competition. Oxford Public School also received the ‘Best School Championship’ trophy.
Principal Dr Ram Singh graced the event with his presence and felicitated the winners. He applauded the inquisitiveness existing in children and the inclination towards gaining knowledge and developing intelligence.
