Jamshedpur, March 1:  Dry spell coupled with a gradual rise in both the maximum and minimum temperature to continue in Jharkhand, predicted IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre today.

The maximum reading has already crossed 35 degree celsius in several places including Jamshedpur and Daltonganj.

“Given the current trend of rising temperatures we foresee a harsh summer ahead this year,” said a duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre.

He ruled out the possibility of rain or thundershowers activity in the next one week.

Satellite pictures suggested an Induced cyclonic circulation over Southwest Rajasthan and adjoining South Pakistan extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.

A trough in lower tropospheric westerlies runs roughly along Long. 90°E to the north of Lat. 25°N at 1.5 Km above mean sea level.

The IMD forecast indicated a three to four-degree rise in day temperature in the next five days.
