Jamshedpur, Feb 24: IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of dry and clear weather in Jharkhand today.
Statistics revealed that the maximum temperature in several parts of Kolhan hovered between 36- 37 degrees Celsius in the past 24 hours.
The local IMD observatory in Jamshedpur recorded a maximum temperature of 37.2 degree Celsius on Thursday. Today too the maximum reading is likely to be above 36 degree Celsius in the steel city.
According to statistics Chaibasa in neighbouring West Singhbhum recorded over 36 degree Celsius in the past 24 hours while Daltonganj recorded 35.8 degree Celsius.
Jharkhand capital Ranchi recorded 33 degree Celsius, the season’s highest so far on Thursday. Bokaro, Giridih, Garhwa and Ramgarh also notched a maximum temperature of over 33 degree Celsius.
Weathermen said most places across the state recorded maximum readings about 5 to 6 notches above the normal during the past 24- hours.
No significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand. Westerly to north-westerly wind was prevailing over the state.
