Ranchi, Nov.28: In the era of e-governance when dependence of any government on information technology (IT) has increased several folds to ensure speedy disposal of work, as many as 332 e-managers, who have already extended their services from 2017 to 2019, are sitting idle without job in want of clearance of file from chief minister’s office.
A section of e-managers running from pillar to post for extension of contract of e-managers, shared the problem to lagatar24.com saying nobody knows what is going to happen in the matter of extension though the matter is important.
“On November 4 last year IT and e-governance department secretary, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, had written to all deputy commissioners of the state to review the works to e-managers deputed in 264 blocks of 24 districts to take decision in the matter of extension of their contracts. Following the direction all DCs have sent their report to the IT department but despite all no step could be taken for extension of contract. We have come to know that the chief minister is awaiting the clearance of the file,” one of e-managers associated with the Jharkhand e-Manager Association said.
An official at deputy commissioner’s office in Ranchi said E-Managers were deputed in 264 blocks and district level offices of the state in the financial year 2017 to 2019. They were of quite helpful in generating caste certificates and income certificates besides other documents required to get benefit for different government schemes and fulfil other legal requirements. E-managers included e-bank managers, e-merchant managers, block level e-manager and network managers, the official said.
Contacted director of IT department, Manoj Kumar for his comment he said, steps have been taken in the matter of extension of service. “Extension of service of e-manager in the district is expected within 15 to 20 days. As far as extension of service of block level e-manager is concerned it is daisy as their requirement was not felt due to computer operators who are already there to work under different projects,” Kumar said.
