Ranchi: The Central Government has officially cancelled the Eastern Zonal Council meeting that was scheduled to take place in Ranchi on May 10, citing the escalating tension between India and Pakistan. While no formal statement has confirmed the exact reason, sources indicate the warlike situation along the border may have prompted the decision.

Amit Shah’s Visit Cancelled

As a result of the cancellation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will no longer visit Ranchi. He was originally expected to arrive on May 9 and participate in the meeting the following day, along with the Chief Ministers of Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand.

State Preparations Now Redundant

The Jharkhand government, which had completed all preparations, had declared Amit Shah and other dignitaries as state guests. Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister had also sent confirmation of participation, while only Odisha and West Bengal had not submitted their final list of attending officials.
