Dhanbad, May 23: Six trains, including the Dhanbad-Patna Express, have been cancelled and three others have been diverted today in the wake of agitation of people on the track at Barahiya railway station under the Danapur Rail Division of the East Central Railway (ECR) zone.
Senior railway officer of Dhanbad Rail Division said that in wake of agitation on track, Dhanbad –Patna up and down Intercity, 12367 Bhagalpur- Anand Vihar, 15233 Kolkata- Darbhanga, 03273 Jha Jha –Patna, 03132 Gorakhpur–Sealdah Express have been cancelled.
Besides it, two trains of the mainline, 12303 Howrah –New Delhi and 12273 Howrah–New Delhi, and 15658 Kamakhya–Delhi, would run through the Grand Chord Line Asansol- Pradhan Khanta, Dhanbad, Gaya.
The Howrah-Patna mainline has been disturbed since Sunday morning as people demanding the stoppage of trains at Barahiya railway station have been squatting on the track there.
Following agitation, ECR on Sunday’s late night diverted the Patna- Hatia Patliputra Express through Chandrapura-Gomoh-to Patna rather than the Dhanbad–Deoghar line.
