New Delhi, July 14: After receiving approval from a Delhi court to look into the subject, the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday detained former NSE MD Chitra Ramkrishna in a money laundering case related to alleged illegal phone tapping and staff spying.
Ramakrishnan was subjected to four-day incarceration for interrogation by Special Judge Sunaina Sharma.
On the basis of a judge’s prior ruling, the former NSE MD was brought into the court from behind bars.
On a plea request made by the ED, the judge issued a production warrant against the defendants. The ED requested permission from the court to question the accused when she was produced.
Later, the ED detained Ramkrishna on the grounds of her lack of cooperation, brought her back before the court, and requested that she undergo a nine-day supervised questioning. However, the agency was given four days of custody by the judge.
Ramkrishna was detained by the court after being nabbed by the CBI in a different case.
