Ranchi, Aug.12: A day after the JMM threatened the Centre for the ED summons to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the Ranchi land scam, the BJP retorted and dubbed it a case of ‘Chori aur Sinajori’.
BJP state-in-charge of ST Morcha and former MLA Ram Kumar Pahan, at a press conference, said the JMM leaders and spokespersons are doing both theft and embezzlement.
Notably, JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya, speaking on Friday on the ED summons to the CM, had warned the BJP saying, “…Don’t scare us. If we get angry, the country’s lights will go off.”
Pahan said the Hemant Soren family has created immense wealth in the state by grabbing and looting the land of the poor innocent tribals. Along with this, he said, they have given permission to loot the mineral resources of the entire state.
The ED has summoned the chief minister for questioning a second time. In such a situation, the statement of the JMM leader is a reflection of the anger and restlessness.
“It is said that the Shibu Soren family has looted the land of the poor on a large scale by changing their names. In what has come to be known, names like Shiva Soren, Basant Prasad Soren and Hemant Kumar Soren have been recorded in the papers,” Pahan said.
He alleged that CM Soren took help of non-tribal people to commit the land loot. He said not only this, when it comes to giving benefits to the tribal people by the government, the chief minister also includes his own family in the list of beneficiaries. “He allotted the land reserved for the tribal in the name of Kalpana Soren,” Pahan said.
BJP State Mahila Morcha President Aarti Kujur dared the CM to threaten criminals the way he threatened the ED.
“If you want to threaten, then just threaten those criminals who are killing promising tribal members of the state. If you have courage, threaten those rapists who looted the respect of thousands of tribal sisters and daughters of the state. They were hacked to pieces and hanged on a tree. The JMM should threaten the killers of promising inspectors like Roopa Tirkey, the killers of Sandhya Topno,” she dared.
State General Secretary of Scheduled Tribe Morcha Bindeshwar Oraon was also present at the press conference.
