Dhanbad, Sept 1: A total of eight gymnastic judges from Jharkhand has qualified in the 15th National Judge Course Examination conducted by the Gymnastic Federation of India (GFI) at Puri, Odisha from July 21 to July 24.
Among the eight (including three women) qualified national judges of Jharkhand, six belong to Ranchi whereas the other two are from West Singhbhum and Dhanbad. This is first time eight judges from Jharkhand have qualified in the national course examination.
The qualified judges are Jitendra Kumar (West Singhbhum), Monu Kumar (Dhanbad), Dipak Kumar Sahu, Vikash Gope , Amit Gope , Deep Kumari Majhi, Hema kumara and Subhra Banerjee (all from Ranchi).
Notably, International coach Visheshwar Nandi (chairman), Arundhati Poddar (course leader), S Thiyara, Praveen Dagey and Pawan Poddar conducted the examination of the course. The result was declared on Wednesday.
The Dhanbad Gymnastic Association office bearer Shashi kant Pandey giving while giving this information said that Monu kumar is first from Dhanbad district to have qualified for national judge panel.
Jharkhand Gymnastic Association president RK Anand, Jharkhand Olympic Association executive president Shekhar Bose, general secretary Madhukant Pathak, state Gymnastic Association’s general secretary Nishikant, executive secretary Rajiv Ranjan, vice-president Tulika Srivastava, Kusum Yadav hailed the achievement of state gymnastic judge and congratulated the successful candidate.
