Ranchi, Feb.15: Encroachers are giving a tough challenge to Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) Limited management.
This was reflected today after a section of people staged a demonstration at the HEC headquarter gate a few minutes after the HEC management attempted to remove encroachment from the land presently in adverse possession of Balaji Tent House in the locality.
“HEC management sought help from district administration to remove encroachment from its 50,000 square feet area. But the moment the anti-encroachment drive started, the management faced strong protest. Following this, the management had to suspend its drive midway. Later encroachers organised demonstrations at HEC gate threatening the HEC management of dire consequences in case of any such attempt in the future,” an HEC insider said.
A locality resident said the morale of encroachers in the locality is high. “Whenever any attempt is taken to remove encroachment similar protests take place in the locality,” the resident said.
