Ranchi: In a coordinated drive, Ranchi Municipal Corporation, district administration, and traffic police conducted an anti-encroachment campaign from Kachahari to Kishori Yadav Chowk on Saturday. Makeshift stalls, carts, and unauthorized shops occupying the roadside were dismantled, and items from several spots were seized.
Clear Warning to Vendors, Public Cooperation Sought
Officials warned shopkeepers that if they attempt to reoccupy public roads, strict legal action would follow. Authorities appealed to vendors to set up stalls only in designated areas and keep footpaths clear to ensure hassle-free pedestrian movement.
Action in Dhurwa Ahead of Rath Mela
With the upcoming Jagannathpur Rath Yatra Mela in view, civic teams cleared meat and fish shops in Dhurwa locality. Officials instructed vendors to suspend such sales during the festival to maintain hygiene and respect the religious sentiments of the event. Violations would attract fines.
Commitment to Keep Ranchi Clean and Uncluttered
The municipal team emphasized that such drives would continue to maintain city cleanliness and traffic flow. Street encroachments lead to congestion and inconvenience for the general public. The administration reiterated its firm stance against any form of public space encroachment.
