Ranchi, Feb.9: Former BJP MP and Adivasi Sengel Abhiyan national president Salkhan Murmu today raised the demand of implementing block wise recruitment policy in Jharkhand.
Addressing a press conference at Bapu Vatika in Morhabadi, Murmu said implementing block wise recruitment policy is a practical approach to provide jobs to local youth saying Khatiyan-based local policy is not practical as the Jharkhand High Court had already rejected it on November 27, 2002.
Expressing his concern for Jharkhand not having a recruitment policy after 22 years of its creation, the former lawmaker blamed Chief Minister Hemant Soren for complicating the issue for vested interest.
“The legitimate basis of locality can be local language-culture and local caste list (concept of sub-nationality). But the Soren family is more concerned about votes and notes than public interest. Therefore, instead of giving employment to the Jharkhandi people, they like to blackmail the public by making Khatiyan of 1932 a hawk and give them a tingle to play. Khatiyan can never come into force. Therefore, the movement to implement “block wise recruitment policy” for employment to Jharkhandi people should be intensified. Otherwise, the youth are sure to be ruined,” Murmu said.
Murmu went on saying that 90% of all government and non-government jobs available with the Jharkhand government should be allocated to rural areas and then a block-wise quota should be decided according to the population ratio.
Quota of a particular block, he said, should be filled with the applicants of the same block. “There is no need for Khatiyan for this. Since all can be considered local and the quota of the block should be filled in proportion to the population of castes (ST, SC, OBC etc.) available in the block. This can be implemented within 3 months,” he opined.
Murmu, on the occasion, stressed upon the need of saving Marang Buru Parasnath and called upon the tribals to free it from the captivity of Jain. He said from February 11, a rail and road blockade will be done to draw the attention of the government towards the Marangburu.
