Ranchi, Oct 29: Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das didn’t show up at the joint sit-in protest of the assistant policemen at Ranchi’s Morabadi ground after making a promise on October 20 to the assistant policemen.
Raghubar promised on Wednesday last that if the government does not fulfil their legitimate demands in a week then he will sit with them on a 24-hour protest.
Today is the ninth day and there is no sign of the former CM around the Morabadi ground.
On talking about the arrival of Raghubar at Morabadi to join the protest, an assistant policeman said that the ruling party is already mocking them but now the opposition party is also making fun of them by making fake promises.
“We have not called him yet but today in the evening we all will have a meeting and then we will try to communicate with him to support us and join the protest,” an assistant policeman said.
“We have been sitting here for the past 33 days but till now no resolution has come to the fore. We also have to look after our family and other grievances but no one is concerned about that,” an assistant policeman said.
Raghubar had announced that he would sit on a protest outside the Legislative House against the Namaz room allocation issue in the Vidhan Sabha. He remembered that promise and reached there to join the protest on time during the monsoon session. But now when there is a question related to the career and future of 2200 assistant police personnel, he forgot his promise.
However, this is not the first time that Raghubar had broken the promise. Earlier, he did not even fulfil the promise made to the families of the martyrs. On 14 February 2019, 40 soldiers were martyred in a terrorist attack in Pulwama. It also had Vijay Soreng of Jharkhand. On February 16, two days after the attack, the then Chief Minister Raghubar Das had announced that he and all his cabinet colleagues would give their one month’s salary to the families of the martyrs in Pulwama. He remained the chief minister for 10 months after the announcement. But his one-month salary was not received by the martyr’s family.
