New Delhi, Nov.27: Farmers have postponed their ‘Sansad Chalo’ march to Parliament, two days before the Centre is expected to submit legislation repealing three unpopular farm laws.
After a meeting of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a farmers’ front tasked with selecting the future course of action following the Centre’s big U-turn, the decision was made.
“After a meeting, Samyukt Kisan Morcha has decided to postpone the proposed tractor rally to Parliament on November 29,” said a farmer leader Darshan Pal Singh in Delhi
“PM Narendra Modi should direct state governments and Railways to withdraw the cases registered against farmers during the protest,” said another leader of SKM.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar called on farmers to cease their strike earlier today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated last week that the three farm laws would be repealed. Farmers’ unions said the demonstrations will continue until the laws are legally repealed and other demands are addressed. One of their objectives is a legal guarantee of minimum support prices.
