Fire breaks out at Jharkhand State Guest House as AC blasts; no casualty

Ranchi, Aug.17: A fire gripped the ground floor of the State guest house at Morhabadi today.

The reason behind the fire was a short circuit. There is no information of injury to any human being in the incident. Loss is yet to be assessed.

Officer-in-charge of Lalpur police station Adikant Mahto confirmed the incident saying the AC blasted due to short circuit and soon the fire spread.

Audrey House fire station officials, who rushed a fire fighting vehicle at 12.18pm on getting information of the fire at 12.16 PM said it took approximately three and four hours to control the fire.

“The fire fighting vehicle which left the fire station at 12.18pm returned at 4.25pm after controlling the fire,” a fire station official said.

A locality resident said an atmosphere of panic was created as the fire broke out.

“Police were informed by the personnel present on the spot. After this, the fire was brought under control by the fire brigade,” the resident said.
