Fire in Hazaribag mobile shop, goods worth Rs 25 lakh gutted

Hazaribag, July 4: Early morning fire at a mobile shop in the city gutted mobile phones and accessories worth Rs 25 lakh. The fire was seen at 5 in the morning after which firefighters were informed who took more than three hours to douse the flames.

The owner of the shop, Shahid Akhtar, said he got information about the fire from people residing around the Sujayat Chowk where the shop is situated. He said firefighters reached there immediately and brought the fire under control by 8:30 morning. He said the reason behind the fire is not known yet but the police have suspected a short circuit as the possible reason behind it.

According to Shahid, mobile phones of several companies, other accessories and tempered glasses got gutted. “I have suffered a huge loss which is between Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh,” he said.
