Daltonganj, Aug 18: The FLC (first level check) of the EVMs and VVPATs in Palamu is over. The FLC was done under the order of the Election Commission of India.
Sources said it was a two-week marathon check of the 2,000 plus machines here as in the last 2019 Lok Sabha election in Palamu 1,795 machines, each of the three, were used at the polling stations.
Well-placed sources said 588 ballot units acronymed as BU were rejected during the FLC. These BUs were wrapped around with a red ribbon, a colour that denotes rejection.
Similarly, eight control units called CUs were rejected while the number of rejections of the VVPATs is very less and stands at three only.
The BUs, CUs and VVPATs testing OK have been wrapped with green stickers.
The FLC is a mandatory and almost diagnostic test of these machines used in the polling.
The team of engineers who carried out these FLC here has now moved on to Garhwa where it is doing the FLC of the three equipments.
